Chapter 2 : Define attributes of an activity

A activity may define its own attributes. These attributes are available to the activity itself, and may be propagated to downstream activities if desired. These activity attributes can be defined and accessed using the "Attributes" tab of the activity dialog. This dialog can be accessed in the following ways:

The "Attribute" tab of the activity dialog is shown:

The name, type, and propagation setting of each attribute is displayed in the list box. The following operations are available using the buttons on the right hand side:

  • Add - press this button to display the attribute dialog in order to add a new attribute.

  • Edit - Selecting an attribute in the list and pressing this button displays the attribute dialog to edit the selected attribute.

  • Delete - Select the desired attribute in the list and press the delete button to delete the attribute. A dialog will appear to confirm the intent to delete this attribute.

  • Edit XForm -  This button will start the form editor for the activity level attributes. The activity must have been created before its XForm can be edited, so when you are creating a new activity, this button will be disabled until you have used the OK button of the General tab to initially create the activity. The button will also be disabled if ProEd is not in the connected mode.

The list box at the bottom of the dialog displays all the "global" attributes (those defined at the top workflow level), as well as attributes that are propagated to this activity.
